First: To ensure you understand the message of the gospel (good news) of the kingdom of God, of whom Jesus is King. You must understand that there are only two kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Even if you’ve never heard of Jesus or don’t even think about Him, there is no middle ground. In the kingdom of darkness, there are many areas where you might not even recognize that you’re in bondage. One important part of the good news is that you come to King Jesus just as you are, regardless of what you’ve done or what you are currently suffering from. Everyone comes to Jesus with baggage or bondage, such as addictions (alcohol, drugs, pornography, gambling, verbal or physical abuse, etc.), or with other struggles such as bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, uncontrolled rage, gossiping, sexual immorality, anxiety, depression, despair, envy, witchcraft, selfish ambitions, or anything like these. These are all areas where the kingdom of darkness places you in bondage. King Jesus, emptied His all-powerful nature in the heavens and came to earth to bring freedom to all who are in bondage through His sacrificial death and the power of His resurrection.
Second: Do you want freedom from the bondage of the kingdom of darkness? If you receive the truth of the gospel, believe, repent (change your direction and turn from your wrongdoing), and follow King Jesus as Lord, you receive freedom from the bondage of darkness and wrongdoing (sin) and receive the incredible gift of the Holy Spirit (the person of the Holy Spirit is the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead!). This doesn’t mean that you no longer have any desires toward wrongdoing. It means you now have the power (the Holy Spirit who transforms your heart and mind) and the family (God’s people in His kingdom) who desire to help you grow in this walk as you begin to be transformed to look more and more like the King you follow, Jesus. We, as God’s family, long to help you through regularly studying God’s word (the Bible), time in prayer, and connecting in fellowship with us.
Third: As you grow in following King Jesus, we desire that you fully understand that you are a part of God’s kingdom and are a part of His global family. Every single person in God’s family is of equal value. Your physical heritage, gender, skills, talents, or economic standing has no impact on your value or your status in God’s kingdom. Family cares for one another, and we want to be sure you are loved and cared for and are demonstrating love and care for fellow family members. God’s family always has room for expansion until Jesus second coming (yes, He promised He is coming again, and Jesus always keeps His promises). When you are in His family, you are called to reach out to those in the kingdom of darkness and help them understand the gospel of the kingdom of God. When those lost in darkness receive the good news of the kingdom and follow King Jesus, they join our family, a family that endures forever with God. May we serve together faithfully, awaiting the second coming of our King, the Lord Jesus.
